County non profit to give away at least $100 a month in prizes with new fund raiser.

Help Wanted:

To assist Aroostook county youth and families, Manes and Tails has 'hit the ground running' with a 'FUN' raising Scholarship Fund drive. Support for special needs children and families to attend Equine Assisted services County wide, and new applications has warranted a new funding campaign which the group hopes will take off and roll over year after year.

With a 2011 goal of $5,000 , the 'Manes and Tails Scholarship Fund Club' works when MTSFC members join at any time for $20 to have a chance to win a $10 cash drawing on the first day of the 12 months following. Annual renewals are hopeful. When over 300 participants are signed up, an additional $50 cash drawing will also be awarded each month. More prizes may be added as the FUN grows.

'We are a small group of volunteers with day jobs and farms to run, weary of raffle ticket sales, and hope this will spark a regular income for the Scholarship Fund,' states Nancy Dumond Violette, Manes and Tails President, also 'The monies help children and families to attend Equine Services of their choice and location in Aroostook. The fund also supports training of county coaches and facilitators.'

Manes and Tails is a 501c3 founded to support Equine Assisted services in Aroostook.
