BIG Thanks going out to Presque Isle and Caribou Rotaries for scholarship fund contributions, and Houlton Rotary for planning a wheelchair ramp at Aroostook Horse and Pony Associates in Monticello. Nice job presenters Shelley Taylor and Pam Sheppele.
Extra thanks to the KIND person who donated the full amount of the recent scholarship awarded this past week, student going to Rocking S Ranch.
A total of nine scholarships have been approved so far but few checks have gone out.... PLEASE!! families, case managers or equine service providers: let us know as soon as services are scheduled to begin so payment or services are not delayed. Send info to Nancy 868-5324, 484 1231 or [email protected] I address the mail for the treasurer to send the checks.
The MT website has a page with the scholarship request form (even though the web manager is out on maternity leave) Please also include the name and contact of the case manager if there is one, and PLEASE contact your equine service provider to discuss availability and schedule before sending request. Requests can be sent to MT c/o Pam Scheppele, 27 Westwind dr. Caribou 04736, or to MT c/o Nancy Dumond Violette 489 main St., Van Buren 40785. Either way it goes to me (Nancy) who contacts the committee for vote through emails, which saves time. Once approved I will call the responsible party to let them know of the money available. News about CHANGES: Kindred Spirits, a very successful Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Mental Health Facility in Oakfield: As many of you know, Kindred Spirits lost a VERY SPECIAL Equine Assisted Psychotherapy practitioner, Patricia Kimball, in 2011. Jill Willet has been able to continue to offer services and has had to make some big changes; We wish her great success in the future, much love and prayers; her notes as follows (please take note and save this information):

A number of changes at Kindred Spirits: Growth & Learning, LLC, will be occurring by the end of tomorrow, Friday, 6/1/12. Due to trade mark issues, I have been required to change the name of the agency, so I am excited to share the business name will be Making Strides and the new location is just a short distance from its current location:

For approximately 1-2 months, calls coming into 757-7017 will be transferred to the new phone number. The new phones will be installed and up and running on June 8th.
I am very excited to share that Julie Racine, PMHNP, will be moving her office to this new site, whereby we will be able to provide more wrap around psychiatric and mental health services. Julie will be moving her office in approximately one month.
I apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause you. However, I hope you embrace these changes as we move onto new adventures and I hope to be hearing from you in the near future.

The Campaign for Disability Employment, a collaborative of leading disability and business organizations funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy, has selected the winning videos in the 2012 "What can YOU do?" video contest. This nationwide contest challenged filmmakers to produce disability employment awareness videos that reflect the diversity of skills people with disabilities offer, challenge common misconceptions about disability employment and reinforce the CDE's core message that, at work, it's what people CAN do that matters.

Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Reggie Newson joined Walgreens officials, providers and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) program managers today to kick off the drugstore chain's Retail Employees with Disabilities Initiative (REDI) at the Walgreens located at 6030 W. Oklahoma Avenue in Milwaukee. The store is one of four area Walgreens to be involved with REDI.
