Great news! Barn Dance (June 2) coming together, wish us great weather please!! April 1 meeting at Tracy Thibodeau's Equine Inspirations Learning Center, Plante Rd, Caribou 2pm, we'll be planning barn dance family afternoon activities and evening of music. Lots of support coming in, including Monticello Rec Dept offering activities and games. DC Express gave us a great deal on music, we're hoping for a sponsor. We will be looking to provide food and refreshments also... volunteers and donations NEEDED bigtime!

Change in Vet attendance: Dr Swanson will not be able to make it Sunday.

AND MT will draw the April 1 Scholarship Fan Club monthly $100 winner. No Fooling.

Update on bottle drive: Last haul to the redemption center in VB was over 1100 count after the 3300 trip a week before. VERY happy with the giving communities from Sherman north.

We have SEVEN scholarship requests SO FAR and expect that to AT LEAST double in the next few months so we really do need some individual sponsors as well as the fund raising. Asking community organizations and businesses, ALL suggestions welcome. At the moment we are looking at reducing the amount awarded from 80 to 60% which puts a bigger strain on the families. Some are ready to start at indoor facilities.

"Brush Hours" (open house) at Perfect Ponies Learning Center, Main St., Van Buren will start on Saturday afternoons 1-3pm, April 7. This activity is open to anyone interested in visiting or meeting horses, and was successful in Spring 2011 when many visitors were amazed at how much horses can positively effect people lives. Visitors, watched, brushed, lead the horses/ponies about, some even learned the 'emergency dismount' so necessary in all aspects of life. The event is weekly until mid June.

Aroostook Horse and Pony Associates, Rt 1, Monticello, has been active all winter with unmounted activities and ready for a season of regular and special needs participants. FYI Shelley Taylor 538-9376 [email protected], Sara Wotton 538-0931 [email protected]

Bangor area Asset Building Resource Guide was compiled by a workgroup

of the Greater Bangor Disability Asset Network. It is designed to be

used as a quick desktop directory to connect consumers with a wide

variety of services and tools to help build economic security. In

keeping with the Asset Network's goal to encourage asset building for

people with disabilities, we have highlighted those resources which are

disability related. However, most of these services would also be useful

for anyone who needs assistance with achieving financial independence.

You can also find it online at the Eastern Maine
