A special Mini horse heeds a new home:

Hello to all my facebook friends and horse people. After Pat passed I had to rehome several of our animals. I had one very thoughtful friend who took the mini's. My friend is up against some very serious surgery in the near future, "Rainman" is around 5-6 years old, has a lot of character, and has always done well in the past with other horses, large or small. He was used in equine therapy for about 2 years. Is there anyone out there who can help us find a good home for him? Thank you, Jill Willett-Sewall (Contact Jill on FB or send me your contact info and I will forward)

Last minute:

This is in the EAP Report America's Horse Cares Grant Program In 2002, the American Quarter Horse Foundation embarked on a journey to help free special-needs individuals from their physical, cognitive and emotional limitations. An overwhelming response in grant requests illustrated a growing need for assistance and paved the way for our newest program "America's Horse Cares." This program strives to facilitate a partnership between the noble and gentle nature of the American Quarter Horse and riders who require additional care and patience. To date, more than $450,000 has been awarded to equine assisted activities and therapies facilities across the country.

The 2013 America's Horse Cares grant application deadline is March 1, 2013. Applicant organization must be a facility which utilizes horses to provide equine-assisted activities and therapy (EAAT) to benefit challenged or special-needs individuals. For more information go to:
