Never thought I would ask for this kind of help, all it takes is YOUR VOTE to help Manes and Tails to receive some Bangor Saving Bank funding for scholarships this year. All you need is an email, be a Maine resident and a few minutes, NO money for this one, and of course please forward to friends!

Your Vote Matters More! Mainers are caring people. More than 100,000 of you voted for your favorite charities last year in the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation's Community Matters More grant-making initiative. We are looking to you, our community, to assist us by deciding how to best distribute $100,000. Bangor Savings Bank is pleased to announce that the 2013 Community Matters More voting begins January 28th and runs for six weeks, ending March 11th. Winners will be announced in early April.Again this year, a total of 68 grants will be awarded to the organizations listed on the ballot and to the top 20 write-in recipients. The organizations in each of the eight regions (including write-ins) that get the most votes will receive $5,000 each. The remaining 60 organizations will each receive $1,000. To vote for your favorite nonprofits, visit Community Matters More or stop by any of our 56 branches statewide. The Community Building Grant Program seeks to support organizations and programs that recognize and build on a community's strengths and assets. Awards are made by the Maine Community Foundation's county and regional committees and a statewide committee that reviews proposals both from counties without county committees and organizations whose projects are statewide in scope.
